Petroleum isn’t just used to fuel your automobile. It’s used to produce the foam inside your couches, recliners, chairs and other upholstered furniture. Cargill came up with a smarter alternative. BiOH polyols, which are made from plants like soy.
They asked us to help introduce this breakthrough product to the furniture industry. Our solution? Remind the world of the problem. A problem we all find ourselves sitting on. A newly designed logo and website also helped to articulate the BiOH story.
LKM partnered with Cargill/BiOH first to target the farmers who use their polyols to make upholstery foam. Furniture manufacturers were next, and in less than one year, Cargill/BiOH had partners at furniture markets selling products using their more sustainable foam.
As the company continues to grow, more furniture manufacturers are signing on, and LKM is working to generate pull-through with Cargill/BiOH at the retail level.
